An educational initiative for biodiversity
In May 2023, we installed educational panels at Golf Sainte Baume on each tee of the 18-hole course, marking a strong commitment to the preservation of biodiversity.
These panels offer golfers valuable information on the various animal and plant species present on the site, contributing to increased awareness and outdoor environmental education.
Each panel details specific species, highlighting over 1,000 species that can be encountered in the field, listed by the Parc Naturel Régional de la Sainte Baume. This educational initiative aims not only to inform, but also to encourage ecosystem-friendly practices.
By highlighting the importance of each species and explaining their role in the local ecosystem, these signs play a crucial role in promoting harmonious coexistence between golf and nature.
Golf Sainte Baume’s ecological management initiatives go beyond information. They also include practices such as vegetation management to improve air circulation and maintain ideal conditions for local flora and fauna.
These actions testify to a concrete commitment to preserving biodiversity and demonstrate that sport and nature can coexist harmoniously.
The installation of educational panels is much more than just a means of communication.
The illustrations have become a vehicle for exchanging and sharing ideas on subjects we don’t usually discuss with customers, a link between golfers, a new experience to converse about, but also a medium for exchange and education with non-golfers.
For example, with pupils from nearby schools or day-care centers, or participants in biodiversity workshops open to all.
The idea is really to pass on the message that maintenance practices help preserve the great wealth of biodiversity on the Sainte Baume.
